1st Academy Attendee

Quoting Sharon Webb, from the Huntington CONTACT Rape Crisis Center “This was an intense week where I felt I broaden my perspective on victim experiences and gained a very good overview of issues relating to victims of all crime.”

Hey Amy!  I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful experience I had last week at the Victim’s Assistance Academy.  I learned so much, and met many amazing people.  You and your team put so much work into the week, down to the smallest details, and I really do appreciate it.  I also wanted to let you know that I am very interested in being a part of next year’s Academy, in whatever capacity would be helpful.  I forgot to put that on my evaluation, and wanted to make sure I mentioned it to you directly.  Again, thank you so much.  I hope you managed to get some rest this weekend.

“I would like to take a minute and thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity that I had last week at the Victims Assistance Academy at the State University in Charleston.  I really enjoyed myself and everyone was exceptionally nice.  It was a great learning opportunity especially being relatively new with working with victims.  This learning experience helped to make me feel more confident in working with and being able to help those in need of our services here at HOPE, Inc..  I would recommend anyone just beginning to work with victims to attend a training opportunity like this.  The basic knowledge of assisting victims that I received at the academy added to what I have experienced and learned working with victims really helped me in my position here at Hope, Inc. in working with Victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual assault.  They covered every aspect that is crucial to working with victims.  …………. I appreciate that you made this possible for me.  I also volunteered to be a mentor in the future if needed for the Victims Assistance Academy.  ………… I just wanted to give you a little insight of how things went for me.  I really had an excellent time and thank you so very much for the opportunity to be a part of that training.”
